Terms of Service

Last updated: March 12, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using ScrumChum ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Description of Service

ScrumChum is a GitHub App that provides AI-powered project management assistance, including issue triage, daily standups, ticket quality scoring, sprint retrospectives, blocker detection, velocity tracking, and slash commands. The Service operates by receiving webhook events from GitHub and responding with AI-generated analysis and comments.

3. GitHub Marketplace

ScrumChum is distributed through the GitHub Marketplace. Your use of the Service is also subject to GitHub's Marketplace Terms of Service. Billing for paid plans is handled entirely by GitHub.

4. Plans and Pricing

ScrumChum offers a free tier and paid plans. Features available on each tier are described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Changes will not affect the current billing period.

5. Your Responsibilities

6. AI-Generated Content

ScrumChum uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to generate triage labels, story point estimates, summaries, and other outputs. AI-generated content is provided as suggestions and should be reviewed by humans. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI outputs. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting any actions taken based on AI suggestions.

7. Data and Privacy

Our collection and use of data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described therein.

8. Availability and Support

We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScrumChum and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the GitHub App. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice.
